What it is

Crithmum Maritimum Callus Culture consists of undifferentiated callus cells derived from Crithmum maritimum, the coastal halophyte plant also known as sea fennel or rock samphire. The callus is cultivated in sterile bioreactor conditions rather than harvested from wild plants. Key bioactives include chlorogenic acid and other polyphenols, sugars, minerals, vitamins B and C, and amino acids. Research in 3D skin models exposed to UV damage showed the extract can increase epidermal thickness, stimulate collagen synthesis, and upregulate skin barrier genes such as filaggrin, involucrin, and envoplakin. In cosmetic formulations it is used at 0.5–5% and commonly found in serums, brightening treatments, and repair essences.
