What it is
Diglyceryl triisostearate is formed by esterifying diglycerin with three units of isostearic acid, a branched C18 fatty acid. The branched fatty-acid chains give it a smooth, cushiony, non-greasy emollient feel and good compatibility with oils and pigments. It is common in color cosmetics and oil-rich formulas as a wetting and conditioning agent.
