What it is
This is the smallest of the linear silicones, a highly volatile, low-viscosity fluid. It spreads very lightly and evaporates quickly, leaving little residue, which makes it useful for thinning heavy formulas and improving the initial application feel. In sunscreens it can give a fresh, dry-touch finish and help disperse other ingredients.
Safety & warnings
Disiloxane is generally well tolerated and is highly volatile, so it largely evaporates from the skin after application. It is not associated with comedogenicity and is not a recognized fragrance allergen.
