What it is
Ethylenediamine/Stearyl Dimer Dilinoleate Copolymer is a polyamide-type copolymer made by combining ethylenediamine with dimerized fatty acid derivatives and stearyl groups. In cosmetics it is used to gel and thicken oil phases and to give structure and a cushiony feel to anhydrous and sprayable formulas. It is a rheology and texture agent and does not contribute to UV protection.
Safety & warnings
As a large oil-soluble polymer it remains largely on the skin surface and is generally well tolerated in topical use. It is not a recognized fragrance allergen. It is not among the standard comedogenic oils, though rich oil formulas containing it may not suit very acne-prone skin.
