What it is
Glucosyl Hesperidin is made by enzymatically attaching glucose units to hesperidin, a flavonoid found in citrus peel, which greatly increases its water solubility compared with the parent compound. The improved solubility makes it easier to formulate into water-based cosmetic systems. In sunscreens and serums it is used for its flavonoid antioxidant character and skin-conditioning properties.
Safety & warnings
It is regarded as well tolerated at cosmetic concentrations and is not a recognized fragrance allergen. Because it is water-soluble and not an oil, comedogenicity is not a typical concern.
