Pentaerythrityl Tetrabehenate is a wax-like ester of pentaerythritol and behenic acid used in cosmetics as a thickener, texture-structuring agent, and emollient.

What it is

This ingredient is a fully esterified compound made from one molecule of the polyol pentaerythritol and four molecules of the long-chain fatty acid behenic acid.
