What it is
Rosmarinus Officinalis Extract is derived from the leaves of the rosemary plant and contains polyphenolic compounds such as rosmarinic acid and carnosic acid. In cosmetic and sunscreen formulations it is used as an antioxidant and skin-conditioning agent, and it can also contribute a herbal scent. It is generally included at low concentrations as a supporting botanical; note that a rosemary leaf extract differs from rosemary essential oil.
