What it is
Stevioside is a steviol glycoside extracted from the leaves of Stevia rebaudiana, best known as a high-intensity natural sweetener. In cosmetics it is used at low levels for skin-conditioning purposes and can lend a measure of sweetness to lip products. Its glycoside structure also gives it mild water-binding character.
